I know but he did say that he didn't want to let the sponsors and his team down by quitting.

I want him to do well at the Olympics too....we'll have to wait and see I suppose - would be nice for him to do all 3 weeks - he managed it at Giro

Obligatory podium photo. Dunno who the gendarme is.

Glad I went now. Must thank the misses for chucking me out! Fewer people than I feared and I was able to move around easily. I found a spot between the 50 and 25m lines and only a couple of feet behind the barrier, behind some kids, so was able to see really well.

The team buses don't hang around long after though. As I was leaving, after the jersey presentations, the Rabobank bus was on it's way and 6 or 8 others had all ready gone. I saw a guy in a polka dot climbers jersey, trying to get himself and bike through the crowds - it was Thomas Voeckler trying to get back to the bus - no minders or anything!

A great day out and a few km on the bike too!
