As I was having a pee in a hedge a group of mountain bikers rode past.

Bless 'em, they decided to draw attention to my activity by all chanting 'oi, oi, oi' as loudly as they could.

Was I embarrassed?

Just a bit, but I think I've got over it.

Is there a cycling ritual going on here of which I am unaware?

I'm sure I've seen riders with, er, their backs to the trail, but it didn't occur to me to heckle as I went past.

Why did you stop? practise having a pee whilst still on the move, I am sure that is what everyone else does.

Indeed. MTB'ers don't bother stopping, since they're wet anyway.........

Many years ago, me and my ex husband were having a cycle holiday from Vienna to Budapest. We seemed to be the only Brits on the route and were taken under the wing of a large group of OAP German cyclists.

One day, we'd broken away from our german friends. I needed a wee, so found a dense Hungarian bush to crouch in (ladies crouch for wee's). Ex husband thought it would be fun to shout "The Germans are coming!" at which point I panicked and fell backwards on to a patch of nettles. The germans weren't coming.

The next two days riding were quite uncomfortable.

Is that why he's your ex-husband?
