I wonder if we will ever have a storm 'Muhammed'?

I don't want to belittle the conditions that some are undoubtedly facing. However, "Storm Angus" is the leading story on the 5.45 BBC News

It's a winter storm. We get lots of them as we're a small island next to a big ocean. I dare say that as you go further North and West in the UK these storms become more and more common

It does feel that it is headline news because it is in the South East

Surely it is news because it is unusual for the South East to be on the end of such storms which normally go much further north.

In other news; two ridge tiles off.

I concur. We're a bunch of islands with an oceanic climate at a fairly northerly latitude, and these happen every year. I can understand the forecasters issuing warnings, but unless it's a storm on a grand scale it ain't really news.

Although storm Trump might surprise us all.

It's really windy here. I may have to throw the dog out, smelly bugger.

booze and cake

probably out cycling

Agreed, going by the forecast I was expecting Roland Emmerich to be over shooting clips for his next movie, as it happens it was a total non event, not even a single wheelie bin blown over across the whole of London......probably. If the Met Office are going to start giving gusts names I'm going to have to start naming my farts, ....behold, straight out of Trumpton, may I introduce....Donald *parp*

Perhaps thats because it wasn't due to hit London , just us beach dwellers.

Thankfully we usually only have one or two storms like that a year. We need something to keep the temperature below 20 degrees and to water the gardens every now and again:whistle:

Fair enough that at least looks news worthy, Friday night though even the local London news said to prepare for super strong winds and lots of rain here in London, yeah we got a few puddles but hardly 'hold the front page stuff'.

East Anglia was supposed to get it bad but we barely received the edge of it. It appeared to move up the Channel and just caught all the south coast instead.
