Major storm damage in my garden......the plastic bird seed feeder has blown off its hook and cracked.

Seriously though it was dicey driving to work this morning with branches flying off trees and hitting the car in a number of places. Not fun, but compared to the poor lady who lost her life in wolverhampton it was minuscule

I was up in the loft an hour ago. The Victorian rafters were definitely moving slightly. I am happy to report that Doris has now left the building.

We flew in to Gatwick from Spain today, landed about 2-30 bumpiest ride ever, driving around the m25 they closed the Dartford bridge, Absolute nightmare journey home.

It was hard cycling at times and the complete opposite feeling when being pushed up hill. On my way home through the centre it was grid locked, turned out that that one major road had been closed by falling debris leading to melt down. I ended up taking lots of zig zag routes to try to avoid to chaos.

As I was waiting for Mrs Dave to pick me up I had a call from my mate Ian...
'I'm stuck on the A10, Laura can't get a train out of London, can you pick Jessica up from nursery?' . That was at 4.30. Jessica was a little 15 month old angel, and her mum and dad got to ours at 8.30 in one piece.

Just glad the knackered tree opposite our house fell down on Christmas Day, otherwise it would have been through a few houses today - just happened to topple where the least damage was possible.

I had to lean at 45 degrees to the horizontal to approach Leyland SDM's Kensington store today against a brutal headwind. A cunning last-minute short tack to starboard got me safely through the door.
