On Monday it was announced that rail services in the north would be suspended on Thursday in view of the forecast. I thought they were being a bit hasty, but notice they are not now being suspended,

It was pretty dece today so I went for a spin up the Snake

It's forecast to be a tad wet and windy tomorrow but I'm going beer shopping so I don't care

All school transport across Scottish Borders has been cancelled for tomorrow.

Given the amount of children who travel to school via public transport that'll be a lot of kids at home or a lot of cars en route to school in forecast snow. I predict the former.

None of the schools are closed.
doubt there will be any east of jed, Bos, Earlston; Soutra & Carter both probably difficult.

It is an amazing forecast (a foot of snow!) considering I was listening to Sky Larks singing this afternoon.
I am glad I am not on call this week or I envisage I would have been spending some time in emergency planning - mind you I stay closer to HQ than most managers so I might be one of a few who are available...bugger.

I notice that the forecast has been revised to heavy snow from 4am - 11am rather than 2am - 4pm. Bloody shower of amateurs, no more use than me seeing a few cows lying down in a field and claiming that it's gonna be a sunny Spring.

It's very still here. Calm before the storm??

You'll be fine.

That's the last time I mention DVTs to her!

Jon Snow referred to 'the late Doris Day' on last night's Channel 4 News. He had to apologise - she is still alive; 92 years old.

That's just weird. Being a teenager in WWII and living through the rise and fall of the EU.
