The wind is getting up already. According to the BBC it is only about 45 mph gusts just now, which is fairly normal going by the weather of the last 2 months. It is going to get up to 65 mph at it's peak, sometime about midnight. No rain yet, but there's to be plenty of that too. Fed up with all these storms now, please bring us some cold, bright, settled winter weather.

I was planning on getting up early tomorrow for a couple of hour ride...looking at the forecast, it's gusts of 55mph, so might postpone..

Wind's getting up here a bit. Had to venture out for a few supplies as Mr M has man flu and been in his "lair" all day.
Itching to get out on the bike tomorrow so hope it dies down.

Seem that the Met Office have been rolling over themselves to give anything above wet fart strength a name latterly.
Says the Shetlander, now cosseted from the weather in the Peoples Republic of Midlandshire! Meanwhile the north and west of the UK gets battered by stormy weather for the last 2 months, with the odd day or two of respite. I kid you not, the wind has been unrelenting; even last night it was whistling through the streets of Ayrshire but didn't merit a mention from the Met Office. Not looking forward to Frank's visit if the forecast is correct.

The wind is certainly rising here,no rain as yet,but certainly in the last hour, the wind sound has changed from a whistling to a roar.Poking my head outside, the gusts were strong if infrequent and in the darkness there are creaking and moaning sounds as fences move.

The wind around here is picking up and the rain has started to arrive. My Wednesday ride looks unlikely, though a few diehards might turn up. I don't fancy being blown into the path of a passing vehicle or soaked to the skin for 50 odd miles!
