While most people will say 12pm for noon, and 12am for midnight, they neither of them in fact either am or pm, given what those mean.

12 Noon is between AM and PM, and 12 midnight is between PM and AM.

24h clock is much easier. Although it would help if the Germans would stop insisting on saying "One-and-twenty," "Two-and-twenty" et c- It's bad enough for times, but it's a right pain when they dictate phone numbers...

PM means post meridian I.e after the sun is at its zenith so 12pm is sort of correct but one should say noon and midnight.
I suspect that Tesco is open from 10am to midnight.
Maybe they should just say 11.59 PM!

More accurate - but it would confuse people

because some people are thick
and thick people make them more profit

I think this is covered in the first day of a marketing degree - and probably every other day as it is the most important part of the whole of marketing!!
