The problem is: some of those people are the phone users' children. For many years now, I've felt pity for today's children, because many of their parents appear (to me, at least) to pay more attention to their phones than their own children. I like some technology (I've been a software developer by trade for many years), but I'm painfully aware of how it tends to isolate people and cripple their face to face interactions.
