I keep getting emails from Strava offering 30 days Free upgrade to Premium, on each occasion when I click through they want credit card details before giving me something free. I refuse to do this & email them n each occasion advising them, when they offer a free trail it should be exactly that free, for which they do not need my credit card details.

Does this annoy anyone else as much as me, or am I just getting crankier in my old age.

You're getting cranky.
But in this case it is justified. They are relying on people forgetting to cancel...

Sign up for the trial, with CC info, then cancel the trial IMMEDIATELY.

The trial period will still run for the full 30 days and there's no risk of you forgetting to cancel.

I did that a couple of times.

Do they ever stop, got another offer today, still have to give card details, they will end up being marked as Spam at this rate

The best thing you can do is take the trial, then you'll forget to cancel and end up with a premium account. That's what I did. It's great
