Surely Google’s Find my Device service will do what you want? Otherwise your wife could just ring you, to see where you are.

I used to use Glympse which was good. Don't know if it's still going. Then I got a fancier Garmin that supported LiveTrack and I use that now. I have a friend who shares location on WhatsApp, and that works OK too. And you can share location in Google maps too,
Live track is good as it shows the planned route (if one is in use) so progress can be judged.
My phone is tucked inside my back pocket and I don't always hear it go off.

Same here - it is normally in the rack bag and with wind noise and everything I don;t often hear it
in any case she just wants to quickly check not go as far as ringing which would mean me stopping to take the call
I did used to use Endomondo - started when it had a "Ride 500 miles in July" challenge - which I managed with 4-5 days to spare
which was damn good for me!
but then they discontinued it - which was a pain as they gave little notice and when I tried to download the data the data only started after the challenge
apparently they only allowed download of a certin amount of data
It was fine for basic stuff when it was around
but as it is dead it ain;t a lot of use now!!!

What were you wondering about Rwgps? I've kind of lost the plot.
Rwgps is very good for planning and sharing routes and uploading rides and keeping records. It also has a phone app that you can record rides and follow routes like a GPS.
I'm a fan of the first things (route planner, upload records) and I have used the app but only a couple of times a while ago. It seemed fine.
Do you want it for the live tracking? It does offer this (called "live logging") but I've never used it. I'd expect it to be good because their stuff generally is.
I'm not sure if it's a paid feature or not. That would be the first thing I'd check.

Live logging is a subscription feature. The "free" version offers little more than planning and recording.
All the key features are, quite rightly, covered by subscription.

I'm a paid subscriber (have been for years) so, as I get all these goodies I never know which are free or not.

I enjoy being able to compare myself with other 65 - 69 year olds on some of the segments. Makes you feel a bit better than looking how far down you are if you compare against the young racing snakes.
Now that is where Nhs hearing aids with bluetooth comes in handy.Pair it with your phone ,even the cheaper end of phones Galaxy A57 mine pairs.So you can have your own ringtone off a list inside the phone,sadly i do not know if you can download a favourite tune off Spotify or something,anyway i ramble so off i go.

I have not looked properly.
I am mostly bothered about just logging the ride I do
planning it is just not something I do at the moment
I used to look for new ride by just seeing something that might be passable and going down it to see what happens
so pre-planning was "not a thing"

In which case the Rwgps app is definitely worth a look, even in its free from.
