How do you sign up for a free trial of the 'premium' service?
I wouldn't mind trying it out, but I cant see anything on the site that advertises a free trial.
I just received a random email from strava offering me the free trial. been a member for just over a year so not sure if it is an offer that activates after 12 months?

That'll be about right, I got bombarded with them a few months back. Didn't do it though, they wanted my cc details probably in the hope that most folk wont cancel it.

I wonder just how much Strava has added to the cycling 'upgrade' market, what with many rider's desire to improve their times? Before, as a solo rider, I had no idea how I compared to other cyclists- now I have these thoughts that if I upgrade this, or fit a lighter that, then I'll do certain segments faster. Dangerous and expensive business this Strava....

Thanks That's what I thought, found the share ride option but you have to do that manually each time.

No bother to do that, but an auto post option would have been good.

Is it possible to set Strava to auto post my uploaded rides onto my facebuuke?
I think it might be possible with the pay version, I'll suffice with a copy and paste and save £x pcm ;)

So true it's unbelievable! I've only been road cycling for a year but in the first few months before I knew about Strava I would go out on a leisurely ride and come home having done 20-25 miles without knowing what speed I was going or what elevation I was at. Now I have the Strava app and an onboard computer the whole ride is geared around going quicker in a particular segment than before. I even have to take a short detour around a few streets so that I can begin my ride on a segment otherwise the first 5 miles are wasted as there is no other segment until later. I have only upgraded the tyres but can see why others would be upgrading their bikes to remain competitive. I'm not knocking it because it's fun to see how you rank but can see why it can take over your cycling and get you away from just enjoying being out on a bike.
