Not sure it's worth getting too ahead of ourselves, even with no problems it will be a couple of years before anything changes, and that's without Trump getting involved

Too late, Trump has got involved. He doesn’t want monopolies in the entertainment/streaming market.

Paramount have now come in with a counter offer, which is many billions bigger than the Netflix deal, as it involves them buying the whole of WBD.

Paramount having already donated money will no doubt now be the front runner once the merger does not get approved.
The "right" monopoly is absolutely fine.

Ive a feeling the sports rights market will shake everything up before any mergers are agreed this might be peak TNT'ness of them holding all the cards so to speak and we start to see a real split develop across many providers. none of which will help the viewer of course, but Netflix or Paramount buying WBD are probably the least of the problems viewers will have to deal with over the next 5 years.

I do not really like watching bike races on TV (but crits, CX and downhill is alright). I would rather just watch the highlights but more than that, would far rather read cycling autobiographies: more detail, feelings and emotions can be conveyed in the written word.

I loved GCN+ though when the price was a lot lower.

Another event goes down the TNT pan..... the Commonwealth Games. The event doesn't bother me much from my personal view but.....

Totally agreed, watched it a bit as a kid, but it's farcical now, antiquated to my mind, and lacks a load of actual sports that are key imho - it should be left to die quietly.
No loss to my mind. Be surprised if TNT make much money from it.

Very strange, just seems like a lose-lose for everyone involved.
BBC - lose because it further reduces their sports coverage
TNT - lose because it seems fanciful that the Commonwealth Games is going to increase their subscriptions at all
Commonwealth Games - lose because with no-one watching in one of their core markets it further spirals into obscurity
