Well, that sounds an 'out of script anomaly'. Even if they knew they likely would be unable to tell you.
The 'cancellation stopper department' of course can.

At which point we remind ourselves of Richies top tips on commentary

Oddly this is almost the exact opposite of Carlton Kirby's top tips.

No, you didn't, but while on D+ you did get the D+ programs even if they were rubbish imo.
With the transfer to HBO+ you only get TNT. Nothing else.

The EE deal was only ever for TNT Sports though. The fact you got the standard D+ programmes was a bonus*, I haven't looked to see if D+ is still available for watching that stuff though.

* If you like seeing people having grotesque growths or inserted foreign bodies removed.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
My new way of watching the mid-section of races...

I can split-screen my tablet and play puzzle games while listening to the commentary, looking up when anything interesting starts to happen.

The SBS streaming is only 720p resolution so it is stretched a bit when full-screen on the tablet, but looks very good like this. Actually, it let me reset it to 1080p just now - even better!

Hi all,

So I'm trying to figure out the best and cheapest option to watch the TDF 2026

I have virgin with sky sports, I did have TNT, I lost it when I got a new contract, I didn't mean to and it's my own fault for not being vigilant enough but I do t fancy an extra £25 a month on my package. If I could just add it for a month or two and cancel easy maybe I would, but hate the faff of phoning and cancelling.

I have a second personal laptop next to my works one on my home set up/office. I quite like the idea of the TDF playing on my second screen whilst working, is there an online independent subscription that I could add/remove easily?

Just looking and considering my options. I understand Thier wish to monetise the races, but coats should be fair and accessible or it could backfire, as bike racing has been popular partly due to it's free accessibility to view.

Cheapest way to get the most coverage would be a satellite dish with a receiver capable of multi stream gold, point the dish at 5 degrees West and watch France TV. Maybe £150ish in a sale and should last 2 or 3 years, no VPN or even internet service charges. Might last years longer than that.

Whether it's best depends on whether French commentary is enough for you, whether you can see enough sky to pick up the signal, and much more.

HBO Max offers a rolling contract which can be cancelled at any time. So you could sign up just for July and cancel August.
£31 all sorted.

I remember the halcyon days of Disco+ at £1.99 for a year!
And not so long ago too. 😢

Bit too much work for me, I'll check out the rolling contract first

HBO app is priced starting from £5.99 with adds.
Apparently it's available as an app on virgin media.
Am I missing something as this is far cheaper than TNT sports?

Edit: argh think that doesn't give you sport, only £31 package gets sport?

Yeah HBO starts at that price for the "basic" package, which doesn't even include some of the latest films
There's a "premium" option which is an extra couple of quid with ads, or a fiver extra without
Then there's a 4K option for another extra few quid, and then Sports is separate again
Currently, I believe the Sports package is £30.99 a month and it's unclear whether that also gets you any of the "basic" movie/TV stuff
