A tribute to local legend Sid Standard in High Road, Beeston. "Superbe" frames were built at the back of his shop - that's mine parked in front of the mural. Beeston has absolutely loads of street art, large and small, but many are difficult to photograph due to vehicles parked in front of them. :cursing: Artist is Buber Nebz; the pedestrian at bottom left is in front of his signature, and I didn't notice at the time.

Yesterday, on my walk to the auction to inspect the lots (bid on 3 lots, got none of them!) I noticed a gert long frieze on the far bank of the Nottingham & Beeston canal, alongside London Road, Nottingham. This will have to be in two posts, and I still didn't photograph all of it!

Edit: Thomas Hawksley, referenced in the first pic, was a pioneer of safe mains water supply, which almost certainly saved many lives during the cholera pandemic of 1843. https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/manusc...s/learning/healthhousing/theme2/hawksley.aspx

I presume this is intended to be John McGuiness, as he’s from Morecambe
