Street Lighting

When I cycle home after lates the street lights go off after midnight. You are literally plunged into pitch black, which makes it impossible to see potholes etc, and seriously increases the danger of the commute. I've written a letter but doubt it will have much effect.

It also makes it much, much harder to catch burglars. You can be ten metres away from them now and they can just slide away unseen

I quite like the rural part of my ride when it is pitch black and personally feel safer from the view point of being seen.

Apart from the obvious environmental benefits of reduced lighting, it also 'encourages' everyone to have effective lights!
