More miles........ training is like a pyramid - plenty of steady base miles (if you have the time) with specific speed work.

Good ave..
I do believe in forms of resistance/weight training, but for other reasons than those for speed..
You wanna do faster....?

The very hi intensity sprint work at varying time intervals.
Working at hi intensity for longer periods....
lots of recovery . then repeat.......................
essentially you will need a coach to keep you on track and motivated to push harder and train clever

oh .. forgot to mention... do it all on the BIKE!

good point.. use pain to guage training at correct level
Don't use drugs to mask the beneficial effects of pain based training
get accustomed to vomitting as you surpass your obla

A little bit on the weights might help, Try yourself with some weighted squats, and when your ready for the transmission move onto weighted squat jumps, this will help with explosive power in the saddle
