Recce done. Dry and dusty, lots of fine gravel but no mud. Flat except for a couple of sudden spikes. Very pretty, lots of dogs and a giant dog poo sculpture. I think it's a sculpture, or I wouldn't argue with the dog.
Yebbut shirley you need to carry out a test ride?

HPC - Broxbourne - Stratford is 42 miles. Another 6 miles back to Trafalgar Square for Tour of Britain.

I'll be out in Orpington, staying at my friend's mum's house. Can't be too hungover that I disgrace myself, but I do plan to be quite 'relaxed'.

After the various discussions that we should be going in the opposite direction (nothing to do with my mapping), I took my usual route home down Richmond Road. Just as the Hackney Carnival came up Richmond Road...

Thanks Nick for a great ride, as always great company. Learnt a couple of new routes around town which is always handy to know. I was pre-warned about the Hackney Carnival so I did a little detour around it. 66 miles for me, feet up with a cold beer now, here's to the next one
