Surley Steamroller for the track?

I'm toying with the idea of getting a fixed but wondered if the Steamroller could be used on the track or is it just a poseur's street fixie?

I would also be interested to use it for grasstrack racing and I think it would be particularly suited for that as it can take wider tyres.

There is the Fuji Track Pro but this look like an out and out track machine. I would like a bit of versatility.

Hmm. I dunno. I'd go for the Fuji, Surleys are so passe.

Not in Leeds they're not!

But the Fuji couldn't be used on the road and I fancy a ss/fixed for the winter.

I'd have the Fuji over the Surly every time if I was doing any kind of racing even only now and then. And if the posts on LFGSS are anything to go buy, hundreds of folk get on just fine with them on the road too.
