This nondescript pub on Bournemouth's West Cliff is the only one I pass on my commute. Never darkened its door once in over 8 years in my current job - until today. Popped in for half a pint of Coke, sat amongst the locals for 20 minutes wondering why I had waited so long and then got on my way. Simple pleasures.

I skipped the first couple of stations and cycled to Huntingdon station (17.25miles), got on a semi fast train for 1 stop and off at Huntingdon for the 18miles cycle home. I was tempted to cycle the 21miles between Biggleswade and Huntingdon too but I didn't have a bottle and with carrying the heavy laptop I probably needed it.

Turning right from a side street into a busy main road. Waited quite a while for a gap, then a motorist turning right into my street let me out...

...and was promptly undertaken by Range Rover driving on the pavement!

This is one of the reasons 4x4s are so lethal. They allow kerbs and other road furniture to be casually ignored.
