Not great. Got caught yesterday evening - it had slackened off since I posted, set off. Deluge again. At least the proviz jacket kept my top half dry. Everything else still damp this morning.

Then came down this morning. On the bike lanes, chap in front braked hard for a ped on a zebra. His disk brakes worked, my wet rim brakes didn't do so well and I slithered into him and hit the deck. Both bikes ok. a few leaks and little road rash on me
All my fault.
Seems to happen every couple of years or so that something sends me to the floor :-(

As long as I breathe, I attack.
2 punctures last night coming home with the second one happening close enough to home that i got home before it deflated all the way .
I did have one on friday too on the same tyre but i was in a rush to get home so only did a quick check for debris and missed a small shard of glass that i couldn’t feel initially .
Fixed the 2 flats from last night and pulled the glass out then put a patch over the inside of the tyre just in case.

Ouch, not good - I hope the other cyclist didn't have a go at you for bumping into him!

Grrr, someone turned down the drying cabinet and my stuff is still damp after 6 hours. Will have to get out the post it notes again. Four shelves of people's soggy stuff

I had took the gravel bike to the office this morning so I thought I'd better use it. Given the gloomy skies I didn't go overboard though. I timed it right and got in just before the showers; watched the TdF highlights and cleaned it's chain and tyres before another batch of showers. I also pulled out 3 large thorns that the sealant had plugged without me noticing 👍

Yesterday's evening commute. It was lovely, sunny and warm when I left the office for the train station. All good in the world, a nice quiet ride.
On the train, approaching Rochester Station and it started to rain. By the time I had got out of the station the rain was stair rods.
It's only 3/4's of a mile to home so went for it. It still wasn't cold so the short ride was a bit of fun. Drowned rat comes to mind by the time I walked in the door.

This mornings commute was fine, though it did threaten rain with a few spots, but got to work dry. Its now peeing down here.

Let's see what this afternoons ride back brings.

Rainy Commute #17 for the year
Last year for same period 24 rainy commutes.

Last night - bit of an angry thrash after unpleasantries in the office beforehand. Stopped for some pullups and a hang at the monkey bars; twinged my dodgy left pec on the hang while distracted trying to not look shifty in the presence of the teenage girls also using the bars..

This morning; noticeably cooler which was a good job as I could no longer stand to wear my 3/4 lengths after getting more of yesterday's lunch on them than down my face.. so full-length trousers were donned.

After awaking early following the third demand from my bladder during the night I was out before usual; electing to push the distance out a little through Botley (and enjoy the ongoing horror of the work by the station). This consequently made me a little late but I wasn't feeling particularly charitable towards work given yesterday's events, so meh.

Looks clear for the way home and all being well I'll have another tickle on the rings en-route

On the final flat stretch home last night on the B2B path just past Morrisons in Fishponds, spotted A-hole racing towards me on blue trials motorbike. He was going at some speed too. Then I spotted another motorbike following him but the Hi Viz it was a cop. I shouted that the biker had left the path at the next right side exit, hope he caught the scumbag. Summer evenings seem to bring out the barstewards.....
