Now this is something I can wholeheartedly agree on. Massive SUV W@nkPanzers on the daily cycle commute are one of the banes of my commuting life. It's about time they were taxed out of existence. No one needs one in towns and cities.

Extra Tax on SUV's

Same as that. Like so many elements of "humanity" the mind boggles at our apparently insatiable appetite to destroy ourselves - while we're running out of finite resources, traffic is getting worse, parking is getting more difficult, seemingly every road looks like the surface of the moon what do we do? Make cars bigger and heavier.

We absolutely deserve extinction at the hands of our own utterly stupid, self-defeating behaviour tbh.

Or not fall off and break your pelvis. This latest holiday I avoided the bike for a day or two before.

I'm going on holiday to same place as last year. 4 days in Ypres. We went last year, one of the group fell off his bike in a 0 vehicle accident on a segregated cycle laneand broke his leg in 3 places.
He only got back to full duties at work on 1st September...and is coming with us....we've notified Ypres General Hospital already & booked him a suite

I was so worried about that last year before a big holiday, you ride thousands of miles per year no problem never think of it really, week before your holiday, cant stop thinking you could end up in hospital with a broken bone, and once youve got it in your head, you cant stop thinking it,and I was such a nervous rider riding that week, which of course made it even worse.

Not nice journey into work this morning, dark, wet an horrible. September is turning into a washout still would rather be on the bike that sat in the car stuck in traffic jams watching the rain drip down the window. Went on on the flat bar today took it easier probablt slowest time into work in months. Wet conditions always difficult, never know what to expect. Expect the unexpected and keep your distance.

And before Christmas is usually dodgy as the drivers are in a rush doing shopping - been collected by a bonnet just before Christmas and spent it very battered.

Biblical indeed, took the car. Really not doing it now if the weather is terrible (post injuries). Checked forecast and it's set to remain, so sod that. Drove. Took 20 minutes longer though !

Intermittent. Mostly light rain. Just missed green and stopped at the final light before work, and it got much heavier. If I'd been seconds faster I might have avoided the worst of it! Oh well. Forecast to dry up this afternoon.

Twas raining for the first part of the commute to the station. Thankfully not heavy, more a drizzle. Dried out on the train and thankfully it was dry on the second part.

Rainy commute #18 for the year*
Same period last year 27 rainy commutes

*I was luckly that the first week of September I was in much sunnier and warmer climes whilst the UK was being battered by rain the whole week. So I could have easily added another 5 or 6 rainy commutes to that total for that week.
