Looking like a wet ride home too.

Not having the best weeks commute weather wise. The ride to the station last night was pretty miserable and wet. Not only that I suffered a bloody puncture. Another effing pot hole. Had to change the tube in the pissing rain. Nice. Job went smoothly and quickly though and still managed to get to the train station in time for my normal service. Of course, it was still raining the other end

This morning. Still raining, though not as heavy and not as cold.

So. Rainy commutes no's 13 and 14 for the year.
Same period last year, 2 rainy commutes.
A huge difference.

Every day I pass the ex Soviet Navy submarine B-49 641 class Black Widow. Built in 1966 and was part of the Russian's Baltic fleet. Now sitting rather forlorn in the River Medway.

Is it or was the sub ever open for tours?

A dry ride home; initially chilly but warming up gave the incentive to add some non-obligatory miles.

Took a lesser-rolled route and chanced the tow path into town; which proved less flooded than expected / it had been a few days ago.

Scored a few photos of what turned out to be a very pleasant spring-like dusk en-route to the shops for a few reduced bargains before heading home.

My usual raging disgust at the scumbags parked dangerously around the local shop was today replaced by resolute smugness as they were mercilessly recorded; the images having been sent to the (so far bloody useless) council in an effort to persuade them regular traffic warden visits are very much required..

Light rain on the way home. Shoes were wet for the return, as some bugger, despite the post it note on the plug, had turned the drying cabinet off - I'll gaffa tape it on next time ! :boxing:

Shoes are on the dehumidifier at home and are almost dry already.

Rain overnight, but a possibility of a gap around commute time, so fingers crossed.

Finally rode in on the bike this morning, for the first time this year (various reasons why I haven't previously).

Drizzling most of the way and very wet roads, but not cold, and no actual floods to ride through, so not too bad. Forecast is for the rain to ease off by the time I go home.

Which it did, nice dry ride home, and not really even any flooded bits of road.

But my front light decided to play silly buggers. Came on at full beam when I picked it up from my desk, and would switch off or change beam level. I would have had it on flash mode for 3/4 of the journey, and there was plenty of charge for that and the last 1/4 on full beam, but it didn't have enough charge for full beam all the way home, dropped to a dim setting about 20 minutes from home, then cut out completely 5 minutes from home, just as I got onto the main road where it isn't essential because nothing coming towards me on my side. But I wasn't at all happy riding like that, think I need to get a spare light. Having charged it when I got home, it now seems to be working OK again.
