Left work feeling crap after eating lots of stuff I shouldn't have.
Pushed towards town on the proviso that I'd play it by ear. Ended up taking the usual-ish loop north, getting into a verbal altercation with a driver at a junction; during which I probably didn't shower myself with glory.
Kept pushing the distance out further and pace up as I know the only fix for feeling like shite is more effort. Stopped at the shops to get the mayonnaise I went for yesterday and forgot, then home through the city centre; my mood thankfully starting to ease.
Taking the tow path for the last leg was the easy decision in the hope of avoiding more muppets and it proved to be a great choice - pretty deserted on what turned out to be a very pleasant spring night.
My redemption was complete after I stopped to move a toad from the riverside of the tow path back to the grass by the nature park; not sure where he was heading but a sheer drop into the river probably wasn't the ideal outcome.
On the subject of nature things really seem to have exploded recently - in the past few days I've seen loads of Muntjac, a few larger deer, a couple of bats, a heron.. which of course is always nice.
About 26.5 miles today, pushing the rolling averages to new heights for the year
