So... no die-hard cyclists here using the Ortleib coffee maker, then? ;)
Ortlieb coffee maker? Is that where you mix the coffee in the pannier bag?

One advantage of pod machines, depending the on the model, is their size; mine has a footprint matching that of a twin slice toaster. On pod cost always buy 16 packs and when on offer. £3.33 being the max I normally will pay, quite often they are a lot cheaper direct from Tassimo. Agree the recycling issue is a downside but then as I understand it all local refuse gets totally incinerated.

I got a dolce gusto to the left of my desk in my home office....its great for keeping up the caffeine intake as I work and means I don't need to go up and down the stairs all the time.

Nearly. It's the cut-off corner of a pannier, held above the cup by tent pegs:

ETA: more seriously, this is an actual Ortlieb product.

Result (I think).
I was googling Tassimo problems and came across a thread suggesting a factory reset together with basic instructions.
Just tried it and.....bingo!!!
Hopefully it will work again tomorrow
