Eee... I can't get my head round this bank holiday malarkey. I feel like it's Monday and I should be in Sheffield, but it's Tuesday and I'm in London!;)
And today's commute told me that large amounts of the weekend are going to be spent in my bike-cave playing "hunt the creak"...;)

Afternoon all! Kettle's on...

Here is proof of Oli's superior vocabulary:

Not his clearest rendition of the word, it was about the third time I'd made him say it... Also, we'll ignore the fact that he is really saying 'peepot!'.

I'd buy his a teaset, but I think the b-i-l would disapprove. He rejected the summer jacket my sister chose for Oli because he reckoned a double breasted coat (in navy, with Trophee du Monde on the sleeve) was too girly. (Hmm, who'd know fashion better, the person who works in a dress agency, or the person who designs microchips....)

Oh that is soooo cute :-)

Cheers. Yes, he really is a cutie, I know I'm biased, but I think he's gorgeous. He had yet another ear infection (he always does when I visit - did I do the gag about getting him some auntie-biotics?), and so for the first two days I was there he was a bit clingy to Mum, but once the calpol kicked in he was happy enough.

It's so great now that he's talking, even if it's only single words, because you can have a conversation (although it's limited to 'what's this?' a lot of the time). Bizarrely, he knows the number 4 already - he has a story book in which an elephant is wearing a 4 in a race and he pointed to it, so sis said "four" and held up four fingers. So he can say "four", and point to the right number. Can't do any others, just 4!;) He also tried to do the four finger thing, but hasn't quite got the coordination, so he tends to hold up his whole hand, with 2 fingers crossed.

Sorry, I do ramble on a bit about him...

Arch I expect you have heard of (or still got) the "Adventures of Babar", suffice to say, Babar is an elephant. I was reminded of it when looking for something else. It was printed in 1968 so hopefully is wonderfully old-fashioned with lots of colourful illustrations.

A great series of books! Huge great things too (at least the versions my parents supplied me with, must've been A3 format), made reading them just that little bit more exciting!

Have you read all the Babar books Speicher? I like the one about the day they made marmalade - it was a cut above the rest.
