I thought low grade stuff was for getting through the afternoon with relatives.

Or for having on in the background while you put your feet up, eat Easter egg, and knit...

Pictures to 'switch the brain off' to.

I'm making another cup and finish my fettling, another brew anyone?

I'll grab one in a flask please, then I'm off. Getting peckish, actually. Might do something sausagey for dinner....

Oh deary me. Still, he must have his plus points eh?

A lovely day here in Shropshire, and a gentle pootle through the lanes was rewarded with a cuppa and a Hot Cross Bun next to the Grand Union Canal.

Moff shortly to the Local Farmer's Market. Lots of stalls selling plants, veg etc, and rustic bread. I will also see if any Farmers are for sale.

* ponders whether Arch would like a Farmer *

Criteria: Youngish, fittish, landed, owner of bright shiny tractor, good with his hands, is there anything else to bear in mind?

Oh my god, Oli would love me if I could promise rides on a 'trac-trac' at the drop of a hat! Even better if he owned a classic 'Nee-naw' or two.

You missed out GSOH. Important above all else. Plus a tendency to take on bizarre/imaginative engineering projects. Ownership of a really big shed would also be a plus, but I guess that comes with 'landed'. Also, 'youngish' not all that necessary.

Landslide, I'm sure the b-i-l has his plus points, but you know how it is once someone starts to niggle at you, it's hard to see past it. I wonder if to some extent, it's Only Child Syndrome (him, not Oli) - although I know only children who are perfectly fine, so I guess it's just a personality clash. And maybe my sister and I were brought up to be excessively polite and considerate.

Any tea on the go? I had a cup a soup lunch and it's made me thirsty....

Oh dear - no Farmers for sale today, with or without combine harvester.

Arch, a GSOH would be taken as read, as it were, I find that out very quickly when I tell one of my jokes.:blush::biggrin::biggrin::ohmy:

One of the stalls did have a Verbascum Verily Tallum, and some Aqualegias in a colour that I have not got yet. Caraway seed cake, and Vindaloo Curry sauce without salt or sugar.

BTW Arch, the fire stations round here tend to have an open day each year, I am sure that Oli would like that.

oh, yes, good idea. Actually, I have a pic of Oli in his pushchair, while his Mum chats to a fireman at a fire prevention event in town. And they came round to do a safety check and smoke alarm installation just after he was born - in a fire engine! (They came round in one, not he was born in one) - part of a deal with the ante-natal department. My sis thought that was a bit OTT, until they got a call while they were there, and just dropped everything and left. Probably an efficient way to use the time between shouts....

Nee-naws are very popular with Oli, as are choo-choos, and cop-cops. Cop-cops, in case you don't know, live in the sky, with planes.
