I'd rather have gas, but in the rural environs that is Chez Wafflycat, there is no mains gas. So lekkie it is. Ceramic hob - okay. BUT if you're used to using gas, you have to learn that with gas, the instant 'on' 'off' effect is not there. So with lekkie, there's no *instant* cooling effect that turning off the gas has on that saucepan of milk that is about to boil over.. With lekkie you have to physically remove the pan from the source of the heat. Once you get used to it, it's fine.

RE: Kitchen...

Hmm. We fitted new worktops in our kitchen a few years back. Having fitted them, we had to cut a new hole for the sink to fit in. Until we did this, there was no sink.

It's amazing how clean and uncluttered a kitchen looks with no sink in it.

The downside was that it got to be a nuisance washing up in the bathroom sink.

And then we found that the new worktops were a little bit thicker than the old ones, so all the tiles had to come off and be replaced...

The whole lot is being done in one go mate.
Completely gutted the place and started again from scratch. Onclusing new ceiling, walls and flooring.

And it is amazing how big the room looked with no cupboards in it.
Washing up in the bathroom sing.. AAAGGGHHHHH.. hated it, new sink is now in so at least we can do the washing up... (*he says wishing the fitters would hurry up and replumb the dishwasher*)

Very important point with Ceramic Hobs. When you switch off the heat, the glass very quickly goes back to normal colour.

This does not mean that the "circle" has cooled down.

Also if you are into jam making, be very careful about spills of sugary jammy mix. I have heard of the acids in the sugars eating into the glass of the hob.

Oh yes, and tea please. Lots of strawberries were consumed yesterday, and also an ice cream, at Upton on Severn. I know how to push the boat out!

Um, Waffles, is that not a bit tactless? I mean, it looks like a rotisserie spit to me....

Tea anyone? Although as I have a vague sore throat, and slightly niggling sinuses, you may want to accept it using a very long pole or something....

I'll have a cuppa. I'm sure you'll make it with proper boiling water so that should kill any lurgies. I'll stay away from those biscuits you've just sneezed on though...

I would never make tea with less than boiling water anyway....

No sneezing, just that inevitable feeling of an approaching cold....

It was a mis-timed roundhouse kick while training.

Oh dear. That'll teach you to kick roundhouses. The ones I've seen recontructed have all been wattle and daub, and quite hard...

Bleaughxx( I'm going to take my sore throat home and hope it gets better overnight. I'm working on the recycling round tomorrow.

Ouch also!!!!

That's not best practise, nor to be recomended as a means of relaxation.
