Just sneakily looking on the Astrium site for the interview this afternoon. There's now a new extension to the international space station - they docked it the other day...
*yearns to work on warp drives, dilithium crystals etc*
Their space tourism vehicle looks no end like a small business jet with a rocket at the rear end. Still, I gave up worrying what the climate change bods said about space travel when they pointed out the mass of fumes from the main engines of the Shuttle, and how this was really really bad.
That's fumes of hydrogen burnt in oxygen, mostly. Or steam.
*envisages space shuttle as multimillion pound high-speed kettle*
Good luck Doctor!
I have looked at the Virgin/Spaceship Two website and it all looks dead splendid, although for some reason I am convinced the prototype's fuel was made from car tyres? Yuk!
Off to catch train to Sheffield and then ride the 20 mile to see Mrs. tdr1nka in Bakewell! looks like I have perfect weather for it!
The A625 looks more winding and fun and I can then take the Hassop Rd. all the way to Bakewell. I'll see how the mood takes me when I get to Sheffield.
Uphill all the way out of the city up until the A6187 splits off it, but then you get to scoot down Froggat Edge (I think it's round about 3 miles of downhill).
I am now on the train, God bless WiFi, and being offered constant cups of tea! This First Class is a bit of a lark. Just passing Luton and escaping the gravitaional pull of the South East!
