I hesitate to sound like I'm on the Actioncameras payroll, but... treat yourself to a helmet cam?

I hope you get a suitable responce. You and Ms T were lucky, by the sound of it. He could have killed one of you. I think the fact that you had a child on board (sadly, in some ways) means you have a complaint that is far more likely to be paid attention to than if you were 'just' a cyclist on your own.

With regard to staying firm on the phone, and apologies if this is teaching grandmother to suck eggs and all that, my tips would be a) rehearse, rehearse, rehearse thet things you want to say, in your head before hand. Even act out scenarios of varying levels of confrontation, and work out the best way to counter what the other person is likely to say ;) write stuff down. You have the advantage on the phone of being able to refer to notes without being obvious. and c) set a photo of Ms T in front of you when you call, to remind you why it's important to get the message through. I surprised myself a bit on the radio when the DJ brought up red light jumping, but I was able to give the answer as firmly as I did because I had rehearsed that in my head. (and in print, on here, so many times)

Having said all that, I'm far too easily put off doing stuff, so I really do know how you feel.

Now, I really, really, really, have to go and rearrange my CV.

It is a bad road, it starts with a blind 90º left turn, parked cars on both curbs and then 200yds along it drops. Quiet-ish, residential, parked up end to end and two way it is so tightly packed that if there is a dust cart doing the rounds no one can down it!
Often you get a car behind and an on coming car that has right of way as it is coming up the hill and all hell breaks loose.

Gonna look into an alternative route now.........

Don't blame you. There's a roundabout on my commute in that I navigate using two fairly cr@p farcilities and toucan crossings. I'd die otherwise. Maybe not immediately, but I'd give it about a week before I was wearing an HGV.;)

The sad thing about the school run is that Ms tdr1nka is still v. young and hates hills, otherwise we could be @ school in about 5mins.
So we have to do twice the distance to go round the hill.
*thinks, does anyone have any tunnling equipment?*

*Imagines The Doctor and Arch devising a plot to "borrow" a giant mole from Whipsnade...*

Well, if it's for tdr1nkas benefit, he'd better come along and help!;)
I didn't know they had giant moles at Whipsnade, or are you suggesting that the Dunstable Downs are in fact prehistoric giant molehills from the late Jurassic?

There's a tunneling machine at Folkestone, just next to the M20 and the Tunnel IIRC. Anyone got a few hours to spare at the weekend? We'll bring it back. Honest.

That's exactly what I sent to Astrium.
Well, not just that, I sent them a 'Spice Girls' CD too.
(is a CV not the same as a CD?)
Funny, I've still not heard back from them...

999 Letsby Avenue, surely? IGMC.

Perhaps it needs a brew? I know I do. I'll get the kettle on.
By way of helping Arch with CVs, job descriptions and the like, I showed her (via PM, I didn't nip up there and back in the last half-hour!;)) the job spec and my application letter for the last job I went after.
*may have unexpected opposition for Astrium position:ohmy:*
*worries*

It certainly is an odd day today. I'm wondering if the weather and the seasons are changing, maybe all the Friday the 13th's have drifted out of calender alignment as well?

*mocks the superstitious with image of medieval crone and harrowing portence, 'Oooh 'tis a fearfully fateful day that is Tuesday the 26th!'*

I was born on a Friday 13th, there are some who says it shows!

Um, Letsbe Avenue, surely.

Ok, CV tweaked, I'm going to get a mate to give it the once over for me on Friday, then hand it in on Monday, ultra tweaked. But still have to write the covering letter <groan> Got tempted away by a friend with the promise of arranging some stoat bones and wasted a merry hour doing that.

Could do the letter tommorrow, after work. This is a very annoying time for my laptop to be out of order, tying me to computers at Uni or work.

Don't worry, I'm not going for the Astrium job. Bit of a long commute...;)
