An answer would be nice! But, of course, if you're too busy . . . ! ;)

tdr1nka!

I was interested to read about you being a cycling instructor!

I have a vague plan (of the extreme kind) to (sooner, rather than later) qualify as a cycle mechanic, buy a van, tools and all the necessary equipment and spares, and contact schools in advance and arrange to have a morning and/or afternoon workshop for 10+ pupils at a time, and show them the basics of cleaning/maintaining and fixing bikes. Having just read about the cycling instuctor bit, I'd could teach them cycling skills, too.

How interested do you think schools would be to have this kind of thing available? I'd charge for it, of course; something in the region of £500 a day (I'd be doing it in Sweden most likely, in a few years time!).

*end of pipe dream*

Aghhh! Bangs head off table. I'm so sorry M8.

I should point out that I am not yet qualified and still in the process of filling in forms and going to bed early reading a chapter of Cyclecraft to get me to sleep.

As for the mechanic/trainer idea in Norway I'd check what accreditation and organisations there are there already first.

It's a great idea in principle Dayvo but I am not yet party to how these things operate:blush:.
I would advise a PM to Summerdays and/or Mickle for better advice

Can I have my teacup back now?

Indeed you can, and without a storm! ;)
Thanks for your reply!

There's an English bloke who's involved at a senior level with the main cycling body in Sweden, but I don't want to give too much away (it's only a plan, but I think it could be a good idea); I'll wait until I'm suitably armed, and then STRIKE!

You'll want to use a wood for that, an iron will send it all the wrong way!

Evening all. Just thought I'd pop in for a cuppa. I'm starting to flag now though and am thinking about going to bed.
