Stream proper is in the garden and surrounding fields due to rainfall. Sewer still blocked - not due to rainfall

The police have arrived in the village as we are on floodwatch. No shoot, we can tell that from the level of the stream in the garden.. There is a large sewage tanker/cleaner on my drive. Nice blokes, but in a quandry as they didn't know the layout of the sewers, so I've walked it with them, and they've got difficulty finding out which place to shift the blockage from...

Just back from a very satisfactory gig, outdoors at the Red Lion in York. It was surprisingly sunny and mild, and we managed not to cock anything up despite including three new numbers.

I've also set up travelling to see Mrs Uncle Phil in Ireland at the end of the month. Does anyone know if Ryan Air will want to charge me for a bike if said bike is dismantled and travelling in an ordinary suitcase? That's what I'm thinking of doing, if I can get the package below the requisite 15kg.

Now for a quick dinner - and then I have another hour and a half's work to do outside before I can settle in.

I may be in need of strong fortification of drinking comestibles.

I finished tidying, cleaning, sorting (so that things are in neat stacks) in the Utility Room (aka Cycling centre at Speicher Towers). I decided, unusually for me, to do some washing this evening. So the washing machine decided the floor needed to be flooded. Fortunately with clean water, and fortunately I keep three very large and very old bath towels, within reach of said machine. The washing machine is only about 28 years old, why has it decided to leak?

Fortunately I know a very old-fashioned gentleman who fixes these things very cheaply. but still ggggrrrrrrrrr

Washing machines have some disturbing human like traits akin with ageing.

Once past a certain age they start having trouble holding water and find
that they sometime leak when they laugh or cough.
