Just back from the vet's. Orange has a huge tumor on the inside of his thigh, tests tomorrow to see if it is bad or very bad. Best option is amputation of his leg but that is dependent on his overall health and if it has spread. He is 16 so it isn't looking good.

Oh dear. Condolences. I hope he has the least serious of all problems possibly presenting. On the positive side, even if he has to have a leg amputated, cats manage remarkably well with three legs.

Long story. It did not inspire confidence.

To cut a long story short.

Three docs.
Three entirely different interpretations of the best way forward.
Docs say to MrW: it's up to you.

Now excuse me... I'm all for informed consent, but this was remarkably like, 'we can't agree, so we leave it up to you and if it all goes wrong we can turn around and say that's what you wanted' It came across as them covering their medical rear ends as much as anything. I'm not impressed and neither is MrW..

He's currently in a very goth-like black support boot... they may operate, they may not.

Hmmm, on the other hand, whose fault is it he's in this state?

If the three interpretations are all valid (and they may be, I guess, the human body being a woefully complex thing), then maybe all they can do is ask him to choose? Obviously, I wasn't there, so I may be missing out on a fair bit of verbal clues and wotnot....

Well, I better head off soon, I need some groceries before I can have dinner....
