I didn't realise she was feathered...Uncle Phil said:But I'm cheered at the thought of Arch plucking. How are you getting on?

Landslide said:Hope your ukulele-ing keeps up Arch, but I must admit I find the abbreviated description of "uke" a bit odd - in my martial arts, uke (pr. oo-kay) roughly translates as "crash-test dummy"!

Ah, it's not so bad, a bunged up nose and a lot of sniffing. And a good excuse to eat loads - 'feed a cold, starve a fever'. Needless to say, if I ever have a fever, I ignore that....
Tea anyone?, I'll bung the kettle on.
Oh, I also have sore fingertips on my left hand, from practising my new ukulele.![]()
Speicher said:We might need someone medicalogically qualified here, but I thought the expression was "If you feed a cold, you will end up having to starve a fever". Some clever person will clarify it for us, hopefully.
Arch said:No. no, that can't be right. Whenever I get a cold (not that often) I stuff myself, and I never get a fever....
I think I'll stick with my version, it suits me better! (Mmm, tuna pasta tonight, I think, spaghetti with pesto, and a sauce of tuna, tomatoes, black olives, red pepper and anything else I think will go in).
