That gun thing sounds a bit horrid Teaman. Reminds me off the time we were all made to get off the bus in Dalston. Had to walk past a man who had been shot. Clearly rather dead in the middle of the highstreet. Oh the joys of inner city living.
I used to live near Dalston. Was that the man who had words with a driver who was driving the wrong way down a one way street at him? Or maybe it was another man.

Can I have some tea to sustain me in a little light modding?

As you were, nothing to see here...

I will be going to a knitting group, which meets once a month, and hope that some very kind person will show me how to join seams properly.

There are two ways:

1) very neatly, matching all the rows as you go, edge to edge, having blocked and pressed all the pieces
and
2) any old how, with tacking stitches, and with the pieces unpressed and curled up. If its really bad, you can wear the thing inside out and claim the seams are a fashion feature....;)

I finished the 8 foot scarf for my sister last night. Annoyingly, half way along, I thought of something fancy I could have done at each end, but as I'd already knitted the beginning I couldn't. Next time....

Tea? anyone? the kettle just boiled.

I have a giant fruit scone to share with someone, if you are very quick.
(with proper buttery butter, none of this low fat stuff).

My friend made some cheese scones the other day, to experiment with using barley flour in them. Alas, she didn't have the right sort of wheat flour to mix with it (self raising?) and they turned out like biscuits....

Did they taste ok?
We have barley on our list for growing in Ireland. Plenty of good uses.;)

I don't know, I didn't get to try one...

I bet you could put oats in...

That reminds me. TheDoc and I were in a cafe one time that did really good scones, and we got to thinking about how you could run a cafe that specialised in them - sweet and savoury, served with jams, or cheeses, or pickles or whatever. All baked with various fruit or herbs or spices in.

And the Cafe would be called The Sconnoisseur...
