Also, does anyone else deconstruct a jaffa cake as they eat it, (chocolate first, then orangey bit then sponge (or sponge, then orangey bit...)

Nope. Just stuff them in, barely pausing to swallow before stuffing the next into my gaping maw.

There's a reason I don't buy Jaffa cakes very often. a 36 pack lasts about 3 minutes.

This Galaxy is going to end up as a bit of a community effort... a bit like the jersey relay. Perhaps the contributor of each part should engrave it with their initials?

Anwya, Tea?

That's a nice thought - I'll keep a note, anyway, of who gave what. Maybe one day, I can do a tour taking in all contributors.... It's certainly a friendly sort of feeling. As I ride along I can think, every time I change gear, "That's thanks to Landslide and Uncle Phil". Rest assured any muffed gear changes will be my own responsibility....

The cassette or whatever ('coggy gubbins?' Am I that bad?) is on the wheel at the moment, so I can't look for splines and so on...

Thankyou for using the coaster, Mr Magoo. It's not really in my nature to be fussy, but I had it rather drummed in as a child, and have never escaped... Anyone who's met my Mum (I think that's one regular in here) will know that she just exhudes a sort of militant neat-and-tidyness. Not in a grumpy way, it just swamps you...

Tea? Yes please!

Arch - firstly, grovelling apologies. I've found the cable stops, but I've not posted them, and I'm off on my hols at crack of sparrow-fart tomorrow. I'll get 'em in the post on Monday.
Secondly, not sure if you've a cassette or a freewheel? Sheldon is at hand!

There are indeed perhaps the most moreish of biscuits/cakes... Somehow, they aren't sickly enough to make you stop after 5, or 10, or 20...

Oh please, not to worry. I'm not going to be doing anything to the bike for a while anyway. It's still at Bike Rescue being lacquered, and anyway it looks like I might wait for the CTC Rally to get some bits and pieces. Monday is fine.

Cheers for the Sheldon link, I may print it off and take it home. Although no-one here would be at all surprised if I brought the wheel in here to compare to the screen...

They are terrible if you're trying to shift some lard (as I am at the moment).

On the dismantlement subject, I did used to eat mars bars by eating all the chocolate off the sides, then the caramel off the top, then eating the milky way stuff last (only it wasn't as light back then, it used to be much denser).

It turned eating a simple mars bar into an event, and a very messy one at that

Anybody for a pre end of work cuppa Tea?. Kettle's on.

shortbread is the worse by far for me

Ah, now, not for me, I find it often a bit too cloying around the teeth - although with enough Tea to wash it down...

Dinner (and some shopping on the way home) calls. Spaghetti carbonara tonight!

Just got in from a (rather chilly) pub ride with the local CTC. I'm going to make some Tea? and have it in the bath.
Brrr.:becool:
