Tell your boss you've left the iron on, dash out of work, have a lovely day's riding, then turn up to work tomorrow teary-eyed and brandishing the charred remains of "your favourite cardigan, the one my great granny knitted for me"...

Could be tricky to do the ironing on a board on train! ;)
The guard might conduct her off the train.

Nice thought, but I'm expected at a conference in Southampton:sad:.

Stop it guys! I haven't been out on the bike for over a week and won't be able to until Thursday:sad:.

I bought a Brompton (on Ebay) for exactly that purpose - taking to conferences and so forth. While my colleagues are puzzling out how the local buses work or arguing with taxi drivers who only speak foreign, I'm cruising around town on my Brommie.

It did cross my mind, but I always have a suitcase and stuff with me. But then I guess I'd buy proper Brompton luggage as well... I wonder whether Spandex would notice if I 'borrowed' one of the many Bromptons they have.

That is one problem - because it needs special luggage, one thing leads to another.

However, they're fantastic things once you have the kit. The big front pannier is just the right size for aeroplane hold baggage, and comfortably takes overnight things, A4 files and a laptop. You can always take a little rucksac as well.

I'm sure Spandex wouldn't notice one Brommie more or less. I'll lend you my Brommie pannier if you like (and if the fleet Brommies have the clip for them), but I'll need it back for Saturday, when my Brommie and I are off to see Mrs Uncle Phil in Gay Paree (just too late for the fete a velo there )

Pack lighter! With careful planning (and I must admit, a pair of work trousers and shoes left in my London office) I can survive for 3 days out of a Crumpler Wonder Weenie.

Right, I'm off out into the sunny hills of Derbyshire, toodles!

You're right. I have enough clothes with me to last more than a week:blush: but I'm very indecisive and you just never know what you'll need, what others are wearing etc.

Afternoon! Any tea on the go? I don't fancy the muck with UHT that NXEC serve, but I will take advantage of the wifi;);)

That's it! Last show finished and to the news that we have four nominations from the Manchester Music Awards.

It was great and so much fun I could do another week of performances. It is definately an addiction that I am happy to have.

ooh! well done! No award nominations for prop swords though?;)

Any tea on the go?

UHT - that stands for Utterly Horrible Tasting, doesn't it?

or Ungodly H'addition for Tea (for cockneys...)

Well, I'm back from the Christening. Oli was a complete and utter angel, not phased at all by it, stood on a chair at the font, splashing his hands in the water like he does when he helps to wash up his painting stuff. Luckily it's a fairly progressive church and vicar, so it didn't matter that he wandered off during a prayer and ran his toy train along the top of the Altar rail, saying 'choo choo'... His vocab is coming on in leaps and bounds, and he's still obsessed with trains (he can now say 'chuff-chuff' and 'steeeeam') and fire engines. Not a single tantrum or mood all day, despite it being 2 hours past his bedtime when we (the Granny/Auntie contingent) finally left. Oli and I found a Raleigh Chopper in the pub garden where we had the 'do' afterwards, so we had a good look at it (especially the spokeys on the wheels) and I taught him the word 'saddle'.;)

Roll on August, 2nd birthday. If I can sell a kidney, he shall have an Islabike. If not, he shall have something similar....

It's gone up to five nominations
Best actress - Marion
Best actor - Sheriff
Best supporting actress - Witch Morganna
Best all round actor - Robin
Best community spirit, and supported, production

I guess that last one would cover the local cabinet maker putting in his services for free to build the set and props.

Tea time?
Tea with sugar or anything milk like is xx(xx(
