He'll be wanting you to ride down to see him. It can't be hard because it's downhill all the way

Actually, I realised soon after I decided to do the next London-Edinburgh-London, that riding to my sister's would be an ideal training run. Yikes! Last time I rode there, I took a week. I really need to be able to ride there in a day, and ride back the next!

Tea anyone? Any suggestives left?

Crikey Arch - LEL?

You will have to train for that :bicycle:

And no Bikkies

Oh, did you not know...?

Yeah, that damn book by Arallsop, so inspiring....

I am training. I'm increasing my commute miles (70 last week, compared to a bare minimum of 18), and generally trying to get faster and fitter.

But I think bikkies are ok, in moderation. Need some calories!

Tea?

Evenings!!
It's a bit warm and humid around DoctorTowers this evening.
I too read the LEL account, but managed to withstand the temptation to give it a bash myself.
Mind you, it's been a couple of years since I did Ventoux, and thoughts begin to turn to the notion of A Big Ride.
Let's see - Mountains. Been there done that. Alps, Ventoux and a bit in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Plus getting my arse comprehensively kicked in North Wales.
Century - done that too.
Overnight ride - well, I sort-of liked the FNRttC, but I was ruddy shattered afterwards. I don't feel inspired to do another.
It might have to be a C2C. Or circumnavigating the Isle of Dogs Wight. Or something.
Any ideas?

Doc - I thought C2C in one direction followed by the Hadrians Cycleway (or whatever it's called) in the opposite direction would make a nice tour and possibly make for easier logistics that starting one side and finishing on the other.

The prospect of doing LEL makes me shudder. You're a brave woman Arch.

Hmmmm. That's certainly a possibility, although getting a train to one end and back from t'other isn't so very big a deal.
Obviously doing a C2C in the UK is a much smaller undertaking than a Canadian one!!

Nah, naive, I think...

Anyway, it's 3 years away. It's currently in the same <meh, later> file in my brain as pensions.

Whereas heading off to Canada, all alone? That's brave. Somehow, I find that a bigger undertaking than doing the same thing in Europe - despite the fact that in Europe I'd be ignorant in most languages.

Tea?

Ningles!!

It's a bit blowy here today. Part of my route to work involves a climb into the wind, which wasn't so much fun.
Getting home should be better though!

Not too bad here. Breezy. Got to go out and get lunch, I'd run out of bread this morning....

I like the teeshirt Waffles!

Quiet in here today?

Just had a nice poor man's kegeree, and now I'm going to have a last piece of the cake Mum brought up, with some creme fraiche.

And a cuppa. Tea anyone?

Well done Waff!! I only hope you don't vanish entirely...

I've been reticent about posting at work lately, just in case the IT gibbons (or anyone else) are watching.
