Well err - just keep using it and it'll file itself down

Well, eventually, but riding in any group, I'd probably find myself plucked bodily from the trike and the mudguard ripped off, because of the noise.

I had a go with a hand file, but I really need to take it off and take it over to Pete's and get him to do something machine-tooly to it.

Morning all!

Tea?

I'm all packed and ready for my weekend away in Northumberland, and having a lazy day at home until the off. I mistimed the milk though, and ran out last night, so I've had to buy a pint, and I'll bung what I haven't used in the freezer.

Morning

I'll join you in a cuppa, but mine's a coffee please (I know, I know, but I really can't stand tea ... it's, well, like muddy water ... urghh!) - maybe a bit of cake with that too?

I'm also off today and busy at the CC office twiddling with the server / software and trying to fix some of the things on the outstanding to-do list.

I should be out on the bike really, but I'm having too much fun playing with the software.

What's happening in Northumberland?

Cheers,
Shaun

<passes Admin a cup of c*ff** under a cloth so as not to outrage public opinion>

I don't have any cake, but there's one of my Mum's homemade biscuits?

Northumberland is a bunch of friends who meet up every autumn, at the Youth Hostel in Wooler for a weekend. We go out for rides in the day, and in the evening we look at holiday photos, have quizzes, booze and eat takeaway. (well, some cook, but I normally eat takeaway). I'm driving up with Gromit and Bikepete this afternoon.

It's a bit hilly round there.

FTFY. And hilly is something of an understatement IIRC

Ooooh - Wooler. I've been there on my bike. Twas many moons ago in the early 70's. Has it changed much (apart from all the recent takeaway leftovers and litter)? Another YH in that part of NorthWunderland was Belligham.

*makes note to self - must go back to NorthWonderland once the cake supply has recovered *

It's probably not changed much. Cafes and takeaways come and go, but it's a nice little town, and a good base, even if always uphill to get home. Beautiful scenery.

45 miles yesterday, and 41 today, all uphill. Well, perhaps not, but it felt like it! All the usual suspects were there, and last night we were treated to Luke and Mark's pics from their recent trip to Florence and Pisa, and L'Eroica - very nice. I didn't realise you could go up the leaning tower....

There was also a DVD from the National Cycle Museum, voiced over by the worst narrator in the world. He could read, but not punctuate...

I've not long got in, so I'm stuffing my face with crumpets, and tea. Cuppa anyone?

This post might only make sense to the er um longer-standing members of the tea thread. :hello:

When I was at "work" on Friday, I had to get the laptop computer out of the cupboard. One of my colleagues had great difficulty understanding why I opened the cupboard and then starting laughing.

Well... it was.. because.. there was a womble in the cupboard. What made it funnier was that if I tried to explain  I knew that I would not stop  .

The womble bit, not the apple crumble bit. Although I understand that too.

<hands cuppa to Speicher, once she's stopped giggling>
