Well, actually, it's not snowing here. But it's bloody cold!

I think this week at work is just going to be a case of dragging ourselves through it, and moaning a lot. I spent most of the day sorting the contents of the single use bags we collect from the Micklegate round (blue carrier bags, people leave them out, we pick them up and sort them later back at base - for shopping streets where people aren't allowed to leave boxes out on the street all day....)

What part of "We collect plastic bottles, but no other plastic" is so hard to understand? Trying to sort the recyclable stuff out of a bag stuffed full of crisp packets and yoghurt pots is a right pain....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

And breathe.

Tea?

Tea and a warming hug?:hugs:

I think for some people, if you remove the collection bag and have no penalties for incorrect items then it is almost an excuse to dispose of anything that might be close and saves them the job of thinking about it.

I've done the recycling bins for the theatre after a week's show and end up having to remove plastic jammed into cans and paper jammed into plastic bottles. Also everything is covered in half eaten food, sticky sweets and cola and stinks of beer.

I can sympathise.

Ooh, thank you for both....

Yeah, it's a problem with this bag system that we have to take the bags away. With the boxes, you can leave stuff that's been wrongly put in, and hopefully they get the message (Or they leave it there, accumulating. For years, sometimes). But we can't give boxes on certain streets, unless they can guarantee that the box will be taken back in by 10. One of my colleagues suggested a reusable bag that we could post back through the letter box - but that won't help with the bad stuff, unless we post that through one item at a time.... Also, you'd be amazed how many addresses don't have functioning letter boxes!)

And yes, stuffed jammed into stuff is really annoying....

Ah well. 3 more days of it (and one of Velo Vision) and I'm off home, and hopefully Friday will be a half day.

I am guessing that Arch is watching "Miranda" as am I.

I was... oh, Gary....

Oh, thanks for the spaghetti NT, just what I needed. Just what I had, in fact! Plus the second of the two reduced sponge puddings I bought yesterday. Nom nom nom.

Off to bed soon, tired...:tired:

Sleep well Arch.

I'm going to play with AutoCad now that I have it properly registered and working.

I like 'Miranda' been watching it on the BBC I-player as I never get to watch it live, and there's generally something else to 'tape' at the same time.
Is this the 2nd series? I remember it being on radio4 as a sitcom last year.

-5c here coming home was fine though, main roads clear and relatively safe to drive on, H.C. for supper no food as I've been eating the boss's Quality Steeet all day

Sounds like you know what you're doing now, only thing is if you get rid of your Sky dish you may be better buying another set top box so that you can watch TV whilst you are recording TV on your DVD Recorder/player as whilst recording you can't watch a different channel. this is where the twin tuners come in handy but last time I looked these were only available on HDD Freeview type players not DVD recorders. Will investigate further as I would get a twin one myself if they are now available.

There is now about eight inches of snow here, with temperatures of minus 20 at night.

I felt very sorry for Benjy, the cat from three doors up. He was sat on my doorstep with snow settling on his fur. I let him indoors and he stayed for about half an hour, and made himself at home in a chair. The two residents cats were not at all bothered.
