I was watching the BBC world News at lunchtime. It is followed by a short programme called Click. It included details of a fridge. Apparently you can use your phone to contact it, and ask it if there is a particular item in there, so that you can get said item, or not, as the case may be, on your way home.
The presenter did add, without a hint of irony, that of-course there is an easier way and he demonstrated the easier way so well, I thought, when he opened the door. I was thinking that certain people might then not end up with too many cakes in the fridge.
The same company make an oven that will text you when you dinner is ready, and then you can tell it to turn the temperature down, if you are not ready to eat the meal yet.
It did not say anything about a programme to detect when your cat wants to go out, so that the door can be unlocked.
