After yesterday's party, my brain is finally back in one piece.

How was the party Speich?

I'm just finishing the parkin my boss baked for my birthday last week.

He gave it to me, so it was Free Parkin.

Tea?

The Party? where do I start?

We had about a dozen more people arrive than we I thought had been invited.
16 plus 12 plus 20 does not equal 35!!!

There was just about enough food for the buffet, The chef had catered for 40 people, but not enough wine, or soft drinks. The food was very good.

The extra twenty or so people meant that it was a smidgeon crowded.

One of my relatives seemed determined to contradict or question everything I said. I expect there is always someone like that at every party. Close family went back to my Mother's for tea and cakes and nibbles etc. It seemed a very long day. Fortunately at my Mother's house, we could all go into the garden, or sit on the patio, and it was not so crowded.

My Mother thoroughly enjoyed her day. She received lots of flowers and plants of various descriptions.

Good. That is what matters.

My grandma had an 80th birthday party. It was gatecrashed by the vicar. Seriously. He came along, partook of the buffet, chatted a bit and left. Afterwards, my Mum asked Grandma why she'd invited him (he was a new vicar, and not much liked) and she said she hadn't! Apparently his wife was away, so he was after a free dinner....

I think when you one gets to 90 years of age, you one might forget how many people you have invited.

Although I did not have much of the first course at the buffet, cos I was nearly the last, I made sure, as you might well imagine, that I was one of the first to the buffet for the desserts (lemon cheese cake was my choice).

I have been in the workshop this evening working on parts for the electric trike project.

I have made a bridal joint to join a bit of 70x40mm steel box section to a 100x50mm steel box section. All hand cut and filed to get it dead square.

In need of another brew while watching Planet Of The Apemen I recorded earlier. Apparently 75,000 years ago Africans were very well spoken, in English!
Still, it is easier then reading subtitles while surfing the interweb.

Sounds like a really good party, Speicher, Glad to hear your Mum had a good time.

Arch, the thing with being a religious representative is that you can get away with doing bad and selfish things and then ask forgiveness so it is all alright again.

Yes, terrible, isn't it?

I had to try some German Brandy - Asbach- with coke, just a small glass, on my brother's insistence.

Which reminds me, the choice of crisps, Red Sky Cheddar and Smokey Bacon, was very well appreciated as part of nibbles yesterday. My market research was not in vain.

Glad to hear it, though if I'd been one of the mysteriously-invited brigade, I would have let you have first and second dibs on the leeemon cheesecake. Only because I'm such a kind and generous person, you understand?

*looks around for chocolately leftovers*
