Imagine if you will, a black teeshirt, a pair of black craghopper trousers, and a pair of steel toecapped boots, loosely encasing a vaguely human shaped piece of sweaty lard.

Yeah. That was me by lunchtime..

So tired and hot, I walked home pushing the bike, it seemed easier...

Tea?

The hottest, sunniest day of the year and you wore an all black outfit???

Ha-ha!! You'll have lost about a stone, but it'll all be water.
TheDoctor prescribes a cool shower, then a lie down on a towel with a fan doing its blowy best.

It's my work kit. Light coloured stuff is impractical.

Feeling better now. Had a salad for tea, so I'm going to have a biscuit now.

I have been out twice today on Granville, the Hungarian folder.

The first time was to the bank and then to check out my LBS that I thought had closed but has only been refurbed. Over 100 years as the same family business. Apparently the woman who ran it last retired and her daugher and son in law have taken over. Nice little shop.

The second time out was just now to pop down to the theatre to see what sets need building this year.

I fell off on the way there. xx(

I was crossing towards the right hand lane at a junction while the tram lines were crossing to the left. Unfortunately Granville's front wheel decided to take the tram lines and I flew off and face planted the tarmac in the middle of the junction. I was grateful ther ewas no traffic to see my shame!

I have a bit of gravel rash on my right cheek and my glasses, my left fingers and right wrist are a bit sore and my left ankle is a little bashed.

Granville's handlebars got twisted 45deg to the wheel and the the steering was spun all the way round wrapping the brake cables round and causing the back brake to get pulled out of place on the frame. The dynamo got thumped into the front tyre, the Shimano shifter crank on the rear axle nut got bashed crooked and the chain guard bent into the chain. The folding pedal folded and got scuffed up.

Fortunately I had my tools with me and was able to get the bike ridable to get to the theatre where I fixed the rest of it before riding home again.

I am going to have a shower now and see what else is scuffed up on my legs.

Arch, I might need my wallopping stick back, if a certain someone says something about the above post.

On second thoughts I might need a new wallopping stick. That one is getting a bit stale. It leaves crumbs everywhere and the tomatoes are starting to turn a funny colour.

Cheers Speicher, Granville is a little on the hefty side, made of eastern bloc steel and the remains of long dead Ladas.

I also have gravel rash on my right knee and a big bruise on my left shin. My right wrist is definately twisted but not too badly.

Showered now so time for tea.

Oh no! I hope none of your injuries are serious. Get well soon! :hugs:

A bit of a case of "G g granville! Fetch a cloth!"

I've never ridden among tram tracks, but I've heard you have to always try and cross them at right angles - same with level crossings. That's all very well if there's no traffic and you can swing out and back, but tricky when there are cars behind.

I expect Granville will be alright, I reckon you could drive a tank over him. But please don't try.

:hugs:

I think, bearing in mind your first sentence, you need to add Night Train to the list....

I am off for a shower now. Cool enough for the cats to go out now as well. Leo never used to lie in the sun, but has recently started doing so. As he is white, he may be prone to sunburnt ears. Not sure how easy it would be to put suncream on his ears.
