Morning all!

I'm feeling slightly more chipper, having had the Dr confirm that I've not got pneumonia. Still coughing a lot though.
Dr recommended hot drinks to ease the symptoms...

At least you can spell it. It would be a nuisance to have a disease you couldn't spell....

I'm not sure boiling beer is going to improve it. Mulled wine perhaps?

Hi all, rough day at college today, first of all we couldn't make sense of our measurements for our Horticultural planning course, will have to remeasure the site and make a better log of the results.

Secondly we had several soil science experiments to do in under 2 hours. 36 people in our class and only enough equipment to carry out 20 experiments. Also the lady taking us for science is an Arbericultural lecturer and not a scientist, so told us the wrong way to to the experiments.

Some good news I got 48% on last weeks plant ID test.

Evening all!

Just back from meeting our wedding caterers. On the downside, we couldn't get into the venue. On the upside, we went to the local hostelry instead, and had a lovely chat. We like them, they like our ideas for the menu, and I'm pretending that the prices don't exist!

I've always thought I'd like the catering at my wedding to be a fish and chip van. But then I want to walk down the aisle to Darth Vader's theme...

So what are your menu ideas or would that be telling? Little nibbly things? cake?

Tea?

Yup. We're thinking a Shropshire Blue (her neck of the woods), a good Lancashire (mine), and summat from Yorkshire.

Oh, and I know how dull it can be when people say "I had this wierd dream last night" but last night I started off cowering in front of a friend who was going beserk - in a projectile vomiting head rotating Exorcist sort of way, but was gallantly rescued by James May. By the end of the dream I was pregnant, although typically the fun bit had been edited out, so I'm not entirely sure if it was him wot done it. We did end up, James and I, sitting outside a nice little cafe at the seaside, only to be drenched by a giant wave that came over the seawall, and somehow managed not to disturb our tea cups.

Anyone want to analyse that lot?

Superb! Hmm, I was going to say Wensleydale, but the texture is similar to Lancashire. You need something creamy perhaps....

TheDoctor's expert analysis is that you shouldn't have cheese for supper again.
That'll be 25 guineas please.

1 tablespoon treacle 1 red cabbage, finely shredded
2 tablespoons vinegar 1 onion, finely shredded
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
Mix the treacle, vinegar and pepper together, and stir into the vegetables. Eat with cold meat and jacket potatoes.
