It's sounding weirder by the minute. I see on the other thread that you've cancelled the card. Sounds like a wise move.

Oh it's definitely weird! This is the one time in years of buying on the Net I've had that sick feeling in the pit of the stomach; when there's the dawning realisation that there's lots of reported/alleged problems with the organisation you've just placed an order with. On the other hand, I'm an optimist and hope that it is sorted properly. On yet another hand, this is one where if it isn't sorted, it's a formal trading standards jobbie and if necessary, plod. I just hope it isn't necessary to go that far.

Tonight we're off to see "The Men Who Stare at Goats". Tomorrow night, it's the Ian Macmillan Orchestra at the glittering palace of the arts that is Terrington Village Hall.

It's just a whirl here. (What day is it again?)

Wednesday. Tonight and tomorrow night I will be frantically knitting an AyeAye for someone who is leaving St Nicks, before her leaving meal on Friday night...

Busy day today, just about everyone on Constantine, Burlington and Rawdon had left out masses of stuff, mostly plastic (low weight, but high volume), so we had to make several trips as we're currently down to just the one electric truck, while Get Cycling try to make one good trike out of two knackered ones....

Trying to decide whether to do something imaginative with half a tin of tuna and a third of a tin of tomatoes, or whether to just have the same as last night....

Evening all...

Well Arch.. something more cute than a baby elephant. Baby sharks! Baby rays! Seriously, seriously cute!

The vid on the link is crap in terms of soundtrack, but if you ignore that and watch it through, you see a wee tank with baby sharks, including a baby hammerhead, which is soooooooooooo seriously cute and a baby ray which is even more sooooooooooooooo cute... I've fallen in love with them

Edit: seems soundtrack now working

Today was a very interesting day at college.

We have a lecture called Personal Effectiveness and one of our assignments is to do a group presentation on reflective learning. Our group happens to have drawn the short straw and I happen to be working with two people who seem not to turn up to lectures sometimes.

One of the guys I know has a medical problem and seems to have his head screwed on and knows what to do. However the other hasn't a clue, hadn't done any of the preparation for the lecture.

Last week we had to do some reflective writing, I thought that I'd be helpful by explaining what I had done mine on, which was difficulties with plant identification. This guy seems to be incapable of independent thought and used my example to write his own reflection.

What really took the biscuit was when he said he didn't really see the point of plant ID, because it wasn't useful and he wasn't going to use it anyway. My reaction to that was to explain that the course was relevant and that we needed it to pursue a career in Horticulture.

Anyway it all ended up in raised voices and him saying that he hadn't said anything about irrelevance of plant ID and that I was completely wrong. Funny how the over chap heard exactly the same thing.

Few any tea going? I could do with a cup.

Tdr1nka, I linked to this site a couple of weeks back on Velo Vision, it might have some contacts not on our list.... (although it's a Canadian site, it has global references).

One chap came ot the door and said he had some more bottles, as he'd had a party, and could we take them, they were packed back in the cardboard cartons. Ok, we said, and he proceeded to bring out 6 boxes. At 18 bottles a box. Plus there were about 30 in the recycling box. That's some party! Apparently he has a big telly so people come round to watch football. I wonder how many people get big tellies and then regret it when they become venue of choice for every game....

Thanks for the link there Arch!
