Aghhh, it's all clear on the main routes now, just come back from a jaunt up to the West End. The thing is there is still a ton of slush and if it freezes tonight(and the roads don't get gritted)it's going to be a big old rink out there in the morning.

On the plus side there were more commuters out riding today compared to the other snowy mornings.

Tea please, It's getting colder again and I'm trying to get the feeling back in the index toe of my right foot.

MrWC has an early start tomorrow. He has to be in central London all day. So it's up, and a drive down to the outskirts, then tube into the middle. The the return journey in the evening.

Worcester boilers come much recommended, made by BOSH.

*hands out tea*

The tempreture has just dropped quite considerably,
I'm glad I'm not going out tonight.

Good luck with any snow you encounter 'Doc!

Tea. Want tea.

;)

Came off the bike this morning. Coming down Bull Lane, I thought "I'll just get through that patch of slush and then get off to walk through the really deep slushy/frozen bit" through the reserve, and then found out that the patch of slush was sheet ice, and the bike went out from under me.

Banged my knees on the frame as I landed, and took a while to get up thanks to my already stiff back, but my padded coat took the side impact at least.

Coming home, it was only when I'd walked up to the main road and went to get on again that I found Monty had thrown his chain in the process, so I had to wangle it back on the hub gear sprocket. Thank goodness for black gloves, they don't show the oil.

He'll deserve that wash this weekend.

Tea, please....

Hands Arch a mug of hot steaming tea. Black ice is one of the main reasons I'm staying off my bike until its milder.

I would like not to hurt my knees or legs ever again. Not pleasant.

Last time I came off my bike I hit a puddle of water with diesel in it. I was lied at the side of the road rolling around in pain, car drivers went past not stopping at all to help me up. Eventually a white van man stopped and gave me a hand up. Had an elephant knee for ages.

Hope your knees get better soon Arch and be careful on those roads.

I will. I've been so cautious up to now, it's annoying, but I really thought it was only going to be slush, and by the time I realised, I was going down.... I'd already scooted along the bit of Aldwark that is still slushy, in case it was ice, and it wasn't. Ho hum.

Tom gave me some Arnica cream to rub on the bruises, that was a sight to see, me sat at the table at lunchtime with my trousers rolled up, rubbing arnica into my knees...

Then I got on the trike in the afternoon and smacked one knee on the box that holds the clipboard. Ow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right, going to make some dinner now, something with tuna and tomatoes and lots of pasta.....

Jolly bad luck Arch, take it easy gal!

I need some more tea.

The bruise I got on my leg when I came off before Crimbly is still a good sized lump.;)
The pedal hit my calf side on when I hit the deck.

Pam Ayers is talking about bikes on R4 as we type.
