Taking the biscuit
But my bike is black & red, or at least it was the last time I cleaned it.
I will go back to yellow & black when I get the next Roadrat.:headshake:

OK, if I'm feeling flush I have the choice between the Fulcrum 7 & Shimano RS20 wheelsets, if I'm not so flush there is the Planet X wheel set or just save my pennies and get the RS20 rear as I am in no real rush to replace the front wheel.

Hmmmmm.......decisions, decisions........

Maybe a cup of tea will help?

Thanks for the offer Doc'.

Things are great, thanks.

The cycling went well last year so I finally plucked up the courage and joined a club last night. I've been out with their chaingang over the past 4 week-ends and I hope to continue with that and get some racing done this year.

I've been retired for a few years and took up cycling when I left work. I now want to see what a race is like before I get too old!!

Afternoon! Is the kettle on?

Is it so hard? All I wanted was some new waterproof trousers. Yeomans had men's for £19.99, and women's for £24.99. How is that fair? The men's are bigger, so they'll need more material! <sulk> (I'd get men's but they'll be way too long)

Millets only had them with poppers at the ankle, I want zip gussets. Bah. Still, got a nifty 9 LED torch for £3. Just need to suss a way to attach it to the handlebars. And get my vision back after checking tosee how bright it is...

More tea?

Stick with red - I like it, tis a good colour.

Arch - that drives me mad- why oh why do women have to paya premium for the same thing - brings to mind the whole women = appearance aspect. There is a time and place for it in both men and women but it should not be the be all and end all---rant rant rant!!

Blue- good luck with the racing and riding- sounds like you've got the bug! The club will push you further and give you some great opps - must rejoin my one when things have settled down a bit!

The upshot is, I'll just keep wearing the old ones - although they have a revealing hole in them (lucky I'm always wearing them over trousers!) and the waterproofing is starting to peel away from the inside.

I'll just keep looking until I find something cheap....

Tea's up!

Arch can they not be re-waterproofed? I'm sure I saw some on offer near me- though this was some time ago

Thanks for that. I do indeed have the cycling bug - just never had the nerve to put myself on the line, until now!

I dunno - there's a sort of layer inside (it's a bit like dried copydex, if that makes sense) that is rubbing off in places. (mainly the seat, from cycling I suppose!)

I should just pay up and get some, but it's annoying. I suppose I could get men's and cut them off, they aren't likely to fray. I do have another pair, but they are my 'better' ones, and also have elasticated ankles which are harder to get over my workboots.

It's just me and clothes shopping. If I find what I want straight off, fine, if not, I get grumpy and give up...

I've got eggs and bacon, so I'm going to have a jolly good spag carbonara tonight, maybe even make a little salad on the side, and (a treat) a bottle of beer (Innis and Gunn) to raise for the birthday of a dear but departed friend.
