I heard that Potsy! Me? a bad influence?

My sore throat is now worse, again. Fortunately nearly all "shopping" has been done, apart from collecting the turkey crown. Just need to decide whether to make my own stuffing or try the one recommended by the delicattessen.

Talking of cats, they were very clever this week, and found a lovely clock in the Blue Cross animal charity shop. They obviously knew I needed a new clock for my desk, and found one with a teddy bear next to it, made by the same Company that makes Steiff bears, so very tasteful.

There was a lady on the Antiques Roadshow last week who had three sit-on wheeled Steiff toys - one was an elephant IIRC, and one was a huge bear wearing a big leather collar, that she'd found in a shop in the US and had shipped home. They were lovely.

Oh dear, it seems to be a bad year for sore throats. Honey sandwiches all round!

Now, I really should get on with some laundry. Or have another cuppa first....

Cats being nice can only mean one thing-

If I'm getting b-i-l a diary, would a pen be a naff extra pressie? Lakeland have 'space pens' that are supposed to work in all conditions, anyone tried one? I was thinking a nice pen, not a biro nicked from Argos...

If B-i-L is someone who still writes with a pen then a good one maywell be appreciated. Space pens are a bit odd to use from my experience with them when they first became available. A bit too much ink flow due to being under pressure. However, it could be a good note pad pen.
How about a fountain pen?

I have tried a number of expensive and quality pens and have settled on the Papermate flexi grip as my weapon of choice. The only down side is that they seem to have stopped selling the ones with a cap and only have the push button type that leaves holes in my trouser pockets and ink marks on my thigh.

Ah, thanks for that. The space pen to be honest was partly the right price, and also I thought the spaceyness thing might be a nice gimmick. Not that he needs a space pen, but he has dabbled in astronomy, and it would be fun to tell Oli it was a spaceman's pen...

I'll look again tomorrow.

Yes Potsy, I can just imagine how often the German word for computer memory is needed in Manchester.

Not a lover of mince pies, but it reminded me, wifes been baking Xmas cake....kerrrikey, doesn't it all cost to make a good cake. I think it was about £15...for a cake. Better be good..although it smells smashing. trouble is, she won't let me near it

Not many foods I don't like but Christmas cake is one of them, rather have a chocolate yule log
