I should think they would be a bit expensive to use. I'd prefer the ones where you use pre ground coffee and make a pot full. I used to have a coffee percolator. I loved it. Stephec prefers a gaggia.

@SteCenturion If you like a strong espresso then a proper espresso machine is best.

I've got a pod machine and a pumped espresso machine, and it's easy to tell the difference, ground coffee is a lot cheaper in the long run as well.

I was in our local Tesco tonight and they had them for £94.00.

After that I found a Gaggia machine second hand, it's spot on but I don't think I'd have paid full price for one new. Best bet is to keep an eye on eBay, because they're quite heavy some people sell them as collection only, so it limits the amount of bids they get.

If you were outside The Stocks or the library this morning you were only a two minute walk from me, next time you're there let me know and if I'm home you can come round and try one.

I would be interested to hear what people say about this. There was an offer a while ago in the local Asda with those Tassimo coffee makers that you buy the pods for. I did consider it but thought knowing Asda they would stop stocking the pods and I would end up with a machine with no pods or on a mission to source some more.
I would like to know what the coffee they make tastes like compared to one of the high street coffee shops?

Tassimo was the one I have been looking at mate, got 'em in Currys on sale & Argos too, pods were half price in Currys but don't know/remember how much they are in Tesco/Asda etc.
