I should think they would be a bit expensive to use. I'd prefer the ones where you use pre ground coffee and make a pot full. I used to have a coffee percolator. I loved it. Stephec prefers a gaggia.
@SteCenturion If you like a strong espresso then a proper espresso machine is best.
I've got a pod machine and a pumped espresso machine, and it's easy to tell the difference, ground coffee is a lot cheaper in the long run as well.

I was in our local Tesco tonight and they had them for £94.00.
After that I found a Gaggia machine second hand, it's spot on but I don't think I'd have paid full price for one new. Best bet is to keep an eye on
eBay, because they're quite heavy some people sell them as collection only, so it limits the amount of bids they get.
