Good afternoon from Kent. Grey to middling day. Perhaps I'll make Moussa-ka.
The position of the stress is very important to the spoken Greek language. For example, two words Ταξί and Τάξη would be pronounced the same way without a stress but the first means a taxi and the second means a class, as in school. In the first the final 'e' sound is stressed, whereas in the second the 'a' sound is stressed. That's one of the ways in which reading karaoke lyrics in upper case is difficult as stress marks aren't used with print in upper case so you really have to know the words. That and the fact that things like υ and Υ are the lower and upper case of the same letter that is pronounced 'e'. All part of the richness of learning a foreign tongue.

It goes from bad to worse! I'm sure its very good for the brain cells but I think I'll stick to chess and cryptic crosswords.
