The rain has stopped and the wind has eased but it’s still a bit damp with no hint of the sun yet. Oh well, another day begins.

Yesterday it widdled it down all day, today seems drier and there is more blue sky and sunshine.

Never heard a forecaster use that terminology, "It will widdle it down for the best part of the day". Do they do the forecasts different over there?

That's my admittedly rather broad translation of the weather report Today it is claiming there's a 95% chance of rain so I suspect this sunshine is due to an administrative error which will soon be corrected.

In fact, if we discovered we are in the "parallel" universe and @avalon was in the "real" one, that would explain a great deal...
